[edit] Current life

Since July 2006, George has been working as a promo producer for Studio 23 (a subsidiary of ABS-CBN). He resides in a shared apartment near the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.

Much of his recent entries are about his work and city experiences. His love of television, news, good food, and great beer have influenced him to make brief reviews and even recommendations.

[edit] Life abroad

Born in Philadelphia in 1985, he moved to various US bases with his parents. Tours included San Francisco (1987-1989 and 1992-1993), Okinawa (1989-1992 and 1995-1998), and San Diego (1994). His lifestyle was a fusion of Filipino, American, and host country.

[edit] Life in the Philippines

In November 1998, George's family moved to the Philippines after his father retired from the US Navy.

[edit] Secondary education

He attended Atheneum Amcan School in Noveleta, Cavite in 1998. His schoolmates included actress Roxanne Guinoo. Most of his close friends in high school were the odds and ends of his batch including a pageant queen, eventual valedictorian, three other Fil-Ams, and two creative writers.

George's online addiction was cemented when he managed two websites during high school. One was a batch website for his class at Atheneum and another was a website dedicated to Charmed in the Philippines (Gputz Charmed Philippines).

Before graduating high school in May 2002, he was inspired by a high school friend to blog. He started to write entries about Charmed, Angel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

[edit] Tertiary education

In June 2002, George began his college life at De La Salle University - DasmariƱas taking up a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. He initially joined the Visual and Performing Arts Production Unit (VPAPU) before becoming a full-pledged member of the University publication, Heraldo Filipino. He would later serve as Copy Editor in his third year.

In his senior year he left Heraldo Filipino after being elected President of his program's student council. He would lead a group to achieve a record-breaking 28 projects engineered in a way to promote his course which wasn't well known beforehand. The group was awarded Program Council of the Year (SY 2005-2006).

George graduated college during the 25th Commencement Exercises at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in March 2006.

All of his various college productions, outings, recollections, and experiences are well documented into his blog.

[edit] Blogging life

George's blog was born in April 2002. It was originally named Thirdcharm in relation to a fan fiction he created in high school. His blog was hosted on Blogger and used cheesy templates depicting popular culture at the time.

He would change the title in January 2003 to its present Brodcst Msktir (Broadcast Musketeer) meant to signify his love of broadcasting. George would also eagerly promote blogging to his friends, classmates, and colleagues.

[edit] Blog content

The first entries he wrote about were his intimate thoughts on college and popular television shows like Survivor. Later on his blog was an extensive journal of detailed weekly entries.

Traditions before included The Damage Report which was a summary of weekly events usually posted on Friday. A counter Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) was an entry of personal impressions and expectations of the week ahead and was usually posted on Sunday nights.

In 2003, George began to photo blog. His signature style was including text captions within the pictures he posted.

From 2003 to 2005, his posting interval decreased because of the college grind. However, his updates were still filled with pictures and insights over productions, thesis, and other memorable events at the time.

After graduating in March 2006, George's entries focused on career pathing. To the present day, his blog entries remain a personal account of his work experiences and life in Metro Manila.

[edit] Getting hosted

After a trial run of hosting his blog in a shared paid account with friends and co-bloggers Matthew Ventura and Eric Sarmiento, George established his first domain in early 2006. He selected Digiputz to be the URL.

Part of leaving the Blogger-Blogspot setup was moving to Wordpress.
