JB Lazarte (Joe Bert Lazarte) is the main blogger of the darkly humorous blog called Skirmisher, which he started in June 2006. Skirmisher, touted as "the tech blog with a huge hard-on," covers technology news and caters to the so-called hot-blooded, manly geek. It is an offshoot of an earlier blog called The Skirmish of Dark and Light, mainly because of the "dubious" success of some of the "evil" entries there, including such posts as "Jesus sings Sinatra," "Judas the Armadillo," and "The Filipina Named Nyah."

JB Lazarte also writes fiction. His stories have appeared on magazines such as the Philippines Free Press, the Philippine Graphic, and the Sunday Inquirer. His story "Folly Parade" was included by the UP Creative Writing Center in its "Likhaan 2001" anthology. In August 2006, his story "Blind Spot" won second prize at the Philippines Free Press Annual Literary Prize. He currently works on a much longer literary piece, while on the side he faithfully serves "delicious heaps of bullshit" on his Skirmisher blog everyday.
